Critical Minerals Masterclass: Overview

CM WS Banner.jpg

Topic: Foreign direct investment and mitigation of sovereign risk through international law - Dr Colin Roberts

This 3-4-hour Lecture is designed for those working, or intending to work, in the upstream end of the Resources Industry who are becoming directly or indirectly involved with the trans-national investment decision-making process.

One of the most characteristic features of trans-boundary Resources Investment is the dramatic risk/reward relationship associated with exploration and production. Therefore, it is essential that Resource Professionals understand the dynamics of these mitigable risks.

The focus is on how companies can identify, characterize, quantify and mitigate the risks associated with Foreign Direct Investment

Topic: Secure critical mineral supply chains - Dr Richard Macoun

The increasing frequency of natural and manmade disasters is exposing the fragility of cost-optimized supply chains, especially when parts of the supply chain are concentrated geographically.

This masterclass will set out the principles for designing resilient supply chains, work through several examples of critical mineral supply chains identifying weaknesses, with an emphasis on battery supply chains, and identify opportunities for Australia in creating global resilient supply chains.

The masterclass is particularly suitable for critical minerals professionals and students, those with an interest in supply chains, business continuity and business development.

Who should be interested? Foreign direct investors (mining, oil & gas, major infrastructure), national resource companies, government negotiators & regulatory officials, resource managers, bankers, geologists, engineers, lawyers, exploration personnel, academics.
